Benefon Receives $10m Order For Twig Device

Travel Safety Group, based in Florida has placed an order in excess of $10 million USD for Benefon’s Twig mobile navigation device to support the newly launched Travel Safety GEOS System. The GEOS System is a range of travel safety and travel security services, which offer travel safety and comprehensive travel security by using Benefon’s GPS technology. Benefon’s devices allow Travel Safety Group (TSG) and its GEOS program to offer an entire range of services.

The services available on the new GEOS System include hostage survival training and critical alert messages, which notify travelers of any emerging threat to health or life in the area they are currently in. Travelers are advised if they are about to enter a dangerous part of a foreign city and are also provided with a security assessment and notified of particular hazards when visiting another country. The GEOS System also offers a broad range of corporate security services, including medical and political evacuation thus providing unsurpassed protection across the globe.

Benefon’s GPS mobile phones will be used to support the GEOS operations in the United States. BostonBTS writes “IntelliOne Technologies has just launched a real-world test of Need4Speed, a real-time traffic-monitoring system that tracks drivers’ cell phones. From their website: ‘Unlike any other solution available today, the IntelliOne Roadway Speed Measurement System produces live roadway speeds for all highways and surface streets where mobile phone coverage exists, accurate to within three miles per hour.’ Of course, any compulsory phone-tracking system raises privacy concerns. According to an article on LiveScience, ‘the personal identification data of users will be stripped from cell phone signals before they are processed by IntelliOne’s software.’ The cell phone companies have this data, but IntelliOne says they won’t be keeping their copy.”
