GPSit Delivers Kyocera-Powered Location-Based Security Solution for Real-Time Remote Surveillance
Advanced Find & See Two™ Helps Police Pinpoint People, Merchandise and Vehicles for Successful Investigations and Crime Prevention
SAN DIEGO and BONITA, Calif. - (April 5, 2006) - Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless handsets and devices, and GPS International Technologies (GPSit), a leading provider of location-based security solutions and tracking devices, today announced their collaboration on the Find & See Two™ (FS2) location-based security solution. Designed to meet strict demands of law enforcement agencies and private investigators for covert portability and pinpoint accuracy, the new FS2 uses satellite GPS technology and the award-winning, CDMA-based Kyocera 200 Module for real-time tracking of people, merchandise and vehicles. The FS2 has been approved for use with the second-largest CDMA carrier in North America as well as multiple regional carriers across the United States and Latin America.
Fixed to a vehicle, person or pallet of goods, the Kyocera-enabled FS2 anti-theft tracking device is used with GPSit’s Track Fusion online interface to allow users to follow a target in real time via satellite images overlaid by maps. FS2 enables visibility where traditional surveillance methods fail, such as inside buildings and warehouses, in underground parking garages or on the move in traffic. Real-time, continuous reporting allows immediate response to crimes in progress and increases success of covert surveillance operations.
“By incorporating the Kyocera 200 CDMA Module into the FS2, companies and agencies can leverage continuous, real-time communication no matter where the tracking device is on the carrier network,” said Dean Fledderjohn, general manager of the M2M division at Kyocera Wireless Corp. “The GPSit solution is helping law enforcement agencies control costs and improve the safety of personnel as it improves the overall success of covert investigations. In addition, insurance companies can lower the cost of high-value asset transportation by deterring theft and providing accurate tracking to clients. Creative and effective solutions like this are helping to drive adoption of M2M technology and move it into the mainstream.”
With an internal antenna, the compact device is easily concealed, portable and transferable and provides precise locations within 10 feet. Dual-power design provides added security and continuous tracking for up to 72 hours even if the power source is cut.
“Kyocera Wireless applied CDMA-based engineering excellence to meet a specific set of criteria and help us create a totally new, cutting-edge security device unparalleled for its ability to pinpoint locations from virtually anywhere,” said Netzer Ruperto, operations manager, GPS International Technologies. “With FS2, law enforcement personnel can remain invisible on stake out and trailing operations for better results. FS2 is not only revolutionizing the way professional investigations are conducted, it is also being used in the private sector by individuals who want to easily safeguard their property.”
