Tracking Corp. Launching National TV Advertising Campaign
Just how mainstream has GPS technology become—beyond the increasingly ubiquitous PND, that is?
There have already been a number of commercials touting the benefits of GPS-based navigation in the car. But the technology’s consumer applications are moving beyond that—so much so that commercials proclaiming the benefits of GPS-based tracking may be coming soon to a television near you.
The Tracking Corp. announced this week that it has initiated its plan for direct-response television advertising starting in early December in five of the top ten major TV markets in the United States. Direct-response advertising is just what its name implies; it asks consumers to take a specific, measurable action; Geico’s "call for a free quote" television commercials are an example.
This campaign is designed to support The Tracking Corp.’s home delivery and Internet sales initiative to enable home or office delivery of Tracking Corporation products and services, the company said. It first announced earlier this month that it was pursuing a broad, national television advertising campaign to run throughout 2008.
The company has now completed and approved for national cable and major market television stations both a two-minute and a one-minute direct response television commercial which introduces its newest product: Locate One Plus. Locate One Plus is a portable GPS tracking device about the size of a deck of cards, according to The Tracking Corp.
"We believe what should follow this extensive television advertising for Locate One Plus will be significant national awareness of our unique GPS auto tracking and recovery systems," said Jerry Grisaffi, Tracking Corp. CEO.
