GIS Masters Student Selected Miss College Park
I like to acknowledge GIS folks who achieve in their other chosen fields. I was jazzed when a GIS person won a gold in Beijing. So, in the same spirit, I recognize Elise Pittman who will receive her master’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in geospatial information sciences in May.
She was just crowned Miss College Park and will receive a $2000 scholarship.
“One thing I would like to do is influence the younger generation toward becoming well rounded individuals, not only academically but also physically,” Pittman said. “[It] should be exciting to get out there and meet new people.”
Perhaps she can help others appreciate a geographic perspective as she serves the community.
